Welding Here are some projects I've built in my 46 years of fabricating and welding. These will show some of the different calls I get - and problems I've solved for my customers over the years.
Log In-feed Deck with "stop and load" for Sawmill
Building a full steel deck/floor for an interior sawmill making the by-products dropping to the cellar (a very nice option to sort and handle).
Rigging truck with Boom & Sideboards ready for work. I built this Truck to suit my needs from an old "computer paper" hauling box truck. The loader is mounted on a "torque box" four feet behind the frame.
Chip Tower with Sorting Chute, and Conveyors made for a local "Chip Plant"
This is a power hammer trailer (self loading and tilt to unload) that I built with David Court - to haul a hammer to "teaching sessions"
This is a "drawbridge" conveyor designed and built to drop slabs on the shaker trays below - or allow cants to go to band saws for re-sawing into boards.
I have done Portable Equipment repairs and welding for 26 years - this picture shows me on site to repair a broken excavator bucket
An edger area which I built, that takes boards from the main head saw (from the right) and round edge boards coming back from the ripsaw off the green chain (from left)
This is a drive tower I made for Doug Wilson to mount the drive motor above the old flat belt drive pulley on a 50 Lb. Little Giant Power hammer - the tower also acts as a tool holding rack for low profile tooling used in forge work.
In a sawmill the "Green Chains" run the lumber products around the Mill. This mill had over 200 feet of transfer chain decks to be built.
Lumber forks & bunk built for large front end loader
This is a 200 Hp mill drive with top saw, guards, take away belt, and take away conveyor off the head saw that I had to retrofit
A local Perennial nursery wanted a "Stainless Dip Tank" for dipping last season's pots before planting Here the project is all loaded and ready for delivery.
Often Milling Machine or Lathe work is required to make the Items that I build for customers
This is a fabricated sod attachment for a skid steer to put down large rolls of sod. I worked with the customer to make a unit work to his expectations (we later built another as it worked so well)
This is a "Sluice Gate" to control the flow of water in a local water powered sawmill
Air chutes I installed at a local cement company
Many customers have requested steel beams for supporting a house and having only one or two posts in the basement
Changing a cutting edge on a 980 Caterpilar Front End Loader
Delivering a fabricated Soil Hopper to a Perennial Nursery to fit their needs
Many Contractors have requested their racks "Fit" their trucks - this style is mounted to allow a truck cap to slide into the rack
My Welding...started at age 10 When I was 13 years old, I started to build this truck - so you can see metalworking has been a life long focus (or at least 46 years of it). Various other projects are shown from sawmills to truck bodies on this page of the many things I've been requested to build.
